About Yieldnote
Clear, worked-out money guides for people making real financial decisions.
Yieldnote publishes practical guides on personal finance, credit, insurance, investing, real estate and ways to earn more. Each guide aims to answer one question properly: what the options are, what they cost, and how to decide. We show the maths with worked examples, so you can swap in your own numbers instead of taking our word for it.
What we cover
- Insurance: Life, car, home and health cover: how much you need and how to pay less for it.
- Credit & Loans: Credit scores, cards, personal loans and refinancing.
- Investing: Index funds, retirement accounts and building a portfolio that runs itself.
- Personal Finance: Budgets, emergency funds, saving and getting out of debt.
- Real Estate: Buying, renting, mortgages and rental property numbers.
- Crypto & Web3: Buying, storing and securing digital assets without getting burned.
- AI & Software: Tools for working faster: AI assistants, hosting and SaaS.
- Business & Marketing: Freelancing, small business, email and online marketing.
- Make Money Online: Side hustles and online income built on skills, not hype.
- Education & Careers: Skills the market pays for and finding remote work.
Editorial standards
- Numbers you can check. Worked examples are calculated with the same formulas as our free calculators, and every chart is generated from those calculations.
- Primary sources. Rules, limits and research findings are taken from official bodies (such as the IRS, FDIC and national regulators) or published studies, and named in the guide.
- Illustrative, not promised. Rates, returns and prices in examples are labelled as illustrative. They are chosen to show how a decision works, not to forecast results.
- Regular review. Guides show the date they were published and last updated. We review them when rules, limits or market conditions change.
- Corrections. If you spot an error, tell us. We fix factual mistakes promptly and update the guide's date.
How we are funded
Yieldnote is free to read. We may earn from display advertising and from partner links, which are clearly labelled. Partners never review or approve our guides, and payment does not change what we recommend. Full details are on How we make money.
Not personal advice
Our guides are general information, not financial, tax, legal, insurance or medical advice. Your situation is unique; for decisions with large consequences, consider speaking to a licensed professional.
